This summer, we want to help you keep your yard looking its greatest. A healthy lawn benefits both you and the community. Any questions? Please don't hesitate to reach out.

  1. Wisconsin lawns should be at a height between 3"-4".

  2. Wisconsin lawns should be mowed weekly.

  3. Every mowing should be performed using a different direction from the previous week. This will prevent thatch buildup, reduce tire pivot points, and allow the lawn to not be compacted.

  4. Try to mow only when the grass is dry and attempt to not mow more than 1/3 of the total height of the grass per mowing.

  5. If an extreme heat wave or drought is forecasted, try not to mow during those times, but before or after to reduce stress to the lawn.

  6. No matter what the grass variety is, good grass growth requires three main ingredients: sunlight, moisture, and nutrients.

  7. If you have portions of your lawn that are heavily shaded, please consider lift pruning trees or tree removal to allow better sunlight penetration to reach the lawn's surface.

Here at YPGA, we also offer a lawn mowing service that we would love for you to utilize. Our mowing season will finish up in late October, from which we can transition into a leaf removal and fall cleanup. Whether performed by YPGA or yourself, your lawn deserves to be mowed properly this summer!
