YPGA will remove the ground covering that is currently inhabiting your area, kill it off, and will install native species plants that will beautify your space and thrive in Southeast Wisconsin. YPGA will help you select plants for installation that will bring all the color and texture that you desire in your prairie. After installation YPGA is there to help you maintain the prairie's health and when the time is right. This is done with mowing and introducing fire to the prairie.
PRESCRIBED (RX) BURNS
Prescribed burning is the introduction of periodic fire to an area. It is a necessary and natural component of our ecosystem. Helping the regeneration and growth of fire-adapted species. Fire helps maintain plant resiliency as well as reduces competition for slower growing native trees such as oaks, and helps keep the non-native plants from establishing themselves on your land. Controlled burning increases plant diversity, recycles nutrients back into the soil, increases the soil carbon content as well as the ground water recharge.
